In 1998, my then Managing Director asked if I knew anyone who would like to go to the Torres Strait for 3 weeks to oversee the finalisation of the construction and commissioning of the Thursday Island Hospital. I’m not sure why I immediately said “yes, me”, but I did. 18 months later, as Project Director, I had commissioned the hospital and moved over to Bamaga to commence oversight of the construction and commissioning of that hospital and community health centre.

What did I learn from that experience you ask? Everything I know.

I have 11 years Human Resource, Finance and Contract Management experience within the public sector (strategic and operational) along with 18 years Project Management experience within the private and public sector. I am a competent and assured individual with varied experience in management, consulting and project based work as evidenced by the various roles I have performed. Private and public sectors have given me a broad understanding and intimate knowledge of how each operates.

In these roles I have displayed my expertise and an ongoing commitment to the provision of superior client relationships. My leadership style is consultative, whilst my approach to strategy development and issues resolution is analytical and evidenced based. I am adaptable and logical in my thinking and I most enjoy solving problems using the available resources on both a theoretical and practical level, using my wide variety of business skills gained from an extensive exposure to business and government.

I am an effective and respected leader of human resource, finance, contract management and project teams. I conceptualise and orchestrate human resource and contract management processes and procedures that effectively reinforce and build confidence.
